There's virtually no set up time and you can start using it right away. The product is light but durable enough to withstand all the things a kid could do to it. The voice is clear and precise so it's easy for kids to follow along. My son who's six and his litter sister who's three can spend hours using this! It's great because not only are they learning but they're having fun while doing it. The sound is great as well and the touch is very spot on. I would totally recommend this for kids from preschool until 9. It keeps him busy for hours, as he flips through the pages. I do love that it is educational. There are different modes on it where you can learn and play games and is something that we as a family can do together. It is definitely something he can grow with, as he gets older. The quality of this book is great! I do not have to worry about him ripping pages out, because he can be rough with books. Overall, this is something I definitely recommend.
