Great Technic Build
As a retired Army officer and helicopter pilot, I couldn't wait to try this build. It was very fun to build. I made a mistake along the way, so when I finished the winch would not work. I had to de-construct it down to the second section and start over because the gears are all in the core of the helicopter. It was fun to build a second time and after the second time everything worked fine.
I agree with some reviews that point out the retractable landing gear does not hold up very well. It does hold up satisfactorily for display. I don't think rigidity of the tail boom is a big deal. It is well secured, so I feel no worry that it will fall off during play.
I know Technic models are not completely true to life, but I would have liked for them to put a windshield in so it looked a little more realistic.
All in all it is a great build. It is great to help kids (big and little) understand the workings of a helicopter. The cyclics and collectives do move the swashplate realistically, though not very pronounced. I look forward to showing it to my grandkids to play with.

What a set!!
I absolutely love this Lego set, I’d even go so far as to say it’s my new favourite! The finished model is visually stunning and extremely detailed. The colour scheme is great, the new luminous yellow is a fab addition. Although the set is just over 2000 pieces, the build is incredibly complex and took me 28 hours, although I did make a mistake on the gearbox stage which I had to go back and correct. There are some very fiddly segments to construct, but hardly any repeated methods. The motorised features are glorious! The spinning rotors add to the realism of the model. The winch works well, as does the retractable landing gear, although the landing gear shouldn’t be retracted under the weight of the model, as the

a real technic model, shame on missing parts
this set combines a lot of advanced functions and is enjoyable build, it's a shame my set has missing pieces and the build is halted. it seems like a a long axel was included by error instead of several shorter axes. this is my 2nd large set in a row that has had missing pieces, (the lion knight castle had 2 missing pieces as well). Lego should take a pause on releasing too many big sets socially those over priced licensed sets and ficus on QC. Until then I am taking a pause on purchasing more. what a dissapotment.

Well Done w/ a Few Opportunities
This was by far the most complicated build I've done/seen. You REALLY need to pay attention to each step, and there were at least a few that were very difficult to decipher which lead to having to take it apart, figure out what was in the wrong place (had to research online) and correct. Please note this is just feedback as the build was incredible and very engaging!
As for some of the comments about the tail section being flimsy - I did not experience (or feel) that was an issue. The only thing I would improve is the landing gear motorized function. It does the job but I'd rather not hear "clicks" when the gear if fully extended or retracted, and I would think with a motor it would be able to lift the unit up (if you hold it it works fine, but if you try to have it lift while it's resting on a table it's too heavy).
All-in-all I love it. Keep them coming!
