It displays really well, especially when sunshine gets to the ice sculpture and the pearl-translucent ice rink. So many storylines you could make up with the mini figures too. I agree that the mini figures are emphasized a lot in this set, but that is what Lunar New Year festival is: it&rsquo;s about the fun activities people can do together. The building experience, however, is fun but less attractive compared to the finished product. You will be spending most of your time building the base of the ice rink. I also agree this set could benefit from having more LNY related items. I wish it had a few more elements relating to the Lunar New Year. The tiger minifig is super. As someone else pointed out, this set would go very well with any winter scenes. As is ice fisherman/hat. And tiger costumed minifigure/ changeable photo plaque. Beyond that, meh. Not a keeper for us. Really interested to see more S. China traditions come into play. More flowers, etc. Lego seems pinpointed upon ice &amp; paper decoration, t.v. gala traditions...more N. China. Which isn't LNY for all Asians... Suggest provide translation of Mandarin characters used &amp; briefly explain them in instruction booklets. Missing valuable cultural sharing opportunity. Which a smart reviewer mentioned last year(regarding Nian set), but which you obviously ignored... I appreciate that LEGO is using the correct word &quot;Lunar New Year&quot; as this New Year is not only for Chinese, but also for other Asian countries who use the Lunar Calendar. With that being said, it would be nice if the future set could have some Happy New Year pieces printed in different languages (Korean, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Filipino, etc) so that we have a choice to pick our own. The Ice Festival is a unique idea as Lunar New Year is always falling in winter, and here in North America, it is snowy. I wish there were more ice sculptures. There is a little mistake in the instructions on page 273: I have to place the last part in the middle - instead of on the left side so that it can hook properly (see last picture). The LEGO Ice Festival set is a new way to celebrate Lunar New Year. I found the ice structure to be an interesting build, given the sheer amount of transparent pieces. I found myself saying &quot;that's neat&quot; often, including with some of the stone work. There are some really great build techniques, especially to incorporate the horizonal ice and details thereof. It just seems to be missing the Chinese architecture. It's cluttered with fun minifigs, including a really great chair with skates. Take them away, it just seems like a normal ice rink with some festive flags and flagpoles. The thrill and creativity of uncommon architecture just wasn't there.
