He loves that the set has several animals, a helicopter AND a rescue vehicle. The build quality is a giant disappoint however. The pieces, no matter what, do not stay connected to one another. They fall apart right away. We have MANY Lego sets and have only had this issue with one other set (space ship). The plastic quality feels different than other sets. I am pretty disappointed to pay what I did on a set that does not stay together. We loved the detail in the animals in particular the crocodile and their eggs. He loved pretending to be the ranger and really got into the theme. Another highlight was the helicopter which he has played with by itself nearly everyday. My LEGO loving kids really enjoyed building this. They had no trouble following the clear step by step guide. Any animal, rescue or truck loving child will love this set. Their imaginations can run wild when playing from a vet to help heal a monkeys injured arm, being a pilot to lift a falling tree in a chopper or stopping the crocodile from snapping all the bananas away! Kids loved all moving parts such as the crocodiles mouth can open and close, elephants head moves up &amp; down, the truck wheels turn, you can pull a lever to make the big tree crash down and the chopper blades spin and you can lower and raise a safety cable, giving your child the best and realistic play. The only disappointment is it would be great if it had more animals like lion, giraffe or even some birds (my only reason for not giving it 5 stars) however the great thing about LEGO is that you can always merge other LEGO sets together. My 8 yr old son had a great time building the easier sections of the vehicle. There were some confusing sections where there was a picture and no step by step instructions, like the pond joining other sections. My son loved the track wheels of the vehicle and the helicopter wench that worked. He didn't engage in imaginary play straight away. My 2 year old was upset that there were only 2 elephants, a mummy and baby, no daddy. She is very aware of how many people/ animals there needs to be as minimum for a family- so perhaps next time there can be three or four of same animal? My 2 year old engaged in imaginary play almost immediately. We had a Lego person and said hello. Would you like to see my crocodile? etc. I think the set can be played with by all age groups when made, to avoid choking hazards. An adult helping was needed.
