First one was a bookcase that I'm simply in love with. After building that I got inspired to buy more KidKraft products. I bought the storage units to spruce up my kid's playroom. I have previously bought IKEA bookshelves which seemed good enough until I got the KidKraft bookcase. All of the sudden they looked blah in comparison. I used these storage bins as a bottom piece to stabilize, provide more storage room and definitely spruce up the boring IKEA shelves. I used some metal plates and L brackets to connect the two and the result is great. The only reason I took off a star is because the middle separator shelf just refused to stay in place until the unit was fully assembled. Also, since I was working alone, I had to assemble it backwards, with top being attached first and bottom last. One of the two we ordered was yellowed and paint chipping. It was packaged in such a way that Styrofoam pieces were everywhere and we wondered if it had been returned and resold. The second was okay but also had some blemishes. They are easy to put together and they provide the hardware for stacking two units. Nothing was bent, dented, scratched, or missing which is a miracle in the way things are produced and shipped these days.
