It would probably be better for the 5-7 yo range? My 4yo loved it until the youngest dumped them all out. This bubble maker is properly named- but cause it makes SO SO SO many bubbles! My 3 year old loved playing in them. We only had the machine on for a minute or two because the amount of bubbles popping on the floor was making a huge mess, and my son slipped and hit his head very hard.
