This new 'Ring the Bell' game was a big hit with my 5 year old. He loved that it came with a 'ticket' to insert to play the game and it was more difficult than I expected to successfully hit the bell! We had a great family game night challenge with this with lots of laughs. They provided ideas of different ways to play too which was great for tailoring the instructions based on patience level (ex: who can get the most in 1 min, who can get one of each gem and bell first taking turns, etc). It doesn't require too much skill and I feel like most of it is chance/luck. It also makes a LOT of noise because wood is banging on plastic, I wish they made a rubber hammer/mallet or something to decrease some of the noise. They love dropping coins into the slot, hitting the base with the hammer, and then getting the coins back out by opening the holders. I was pleasantly surprised that the toy comes in two parts that even by 3-year-old could put together, holds together well despite my kids being a little rough with the hammer, and then disassembles in just a second for easy storage. My 6-year-old found it a little challenging (and frustrating) at times to get the coin to hit the bell at the top, but just like a real carnival game, it kept him wanting to play over and over again. My 3-year-old didn't care about hitting the bell and was content to load the coin, hit the base, and pull the coin out wherever it landed. My 10-year-old had better control and was able to hit the bell more consistently. My child was super excited to try it out. But, its fun and coolness only lasted about 20 minutes. There isn't much to do after a bit, since all you do is hit the lever and hope your ring the bell or get the corresponding gem in the hole. The toy is straightforward to assemble and use.
