My son was originally exited to use this toy because it shot things out the front, like a fighter jet shooting missiles. It however did not hold his attention for very long. We felt very luke warm about this toy plane. We did not hate it but also did not love it. The propellers do spin by pulling a lever underneath the plane. Something that i do really like is that it does not take batteries! So its also quiet. But maybe the lack of flashing lights and sounds are part of the reason it was forgotten about after a couple of minutes. The plastic pieces that launch from the plane when you push the button on the side go quite a few feet. The toy seems very sturdy and durable so if your child is rough on toys this will last. The lady pilot that comes with the airplane has her hands (permanently) in a grasping position and will latch into the controls therfore locking her into driving position. This toy would be great for children who like imaginative type play.
