Ariel is extremely well made (my daughter loves that Ariel looks like her!). The doll sings when you press the shell button at her waist. The song is extremely clear and sounds great. The bottom piece of the tail gets snapped on easily once you open the box. My kids have not managed to pull it off yet! Ariel is the size of a normal Barbie and fits right in! Not the cheap plastic most dolls are made of these days. It feels durable. The speaker inside this thing is insane! So clear and very loud (this could be a plus or a minus depending on how much you love hearing &quot;Part of that World&quot; on repeat.) The likeness to the actor is quite good, and the hair is styled true to the character as well. Bonus is that the partially braided hairstyle actually prevents it from getting tangled, so it's not a complete gordian knot after a couple weeks of play. One minor quibble is that the tail fin detaches and can come off relatively easily. But it's a sizeable enough piece that it should not be a high risk of getting lost. Overall I am very impressed with this toy.
