The plastic is thick and sturdy. A lot of toys these days are made of cheap materials that my kids or my dogs break. So far we have not had a single toy break in this set. It came with an interactive tea pot (more on that later), two pastries, two tiny spoons, teacups, a creamer and sugar jar. My 2 and 4 yr old daughters absolutely loved this set and turn this into their pre sleep pretend play time. On the first several nights it was a pain to convince them to leave the tea party set to go to sleep. It then became a set they had to take to bed with them so they can have &ldquo;tea&rdquo; as soon as they woke up as well. The quality of the toys is great and is not flimsy. I do with the rest of the items could be interactive as well but unfortunately only the teapot was interactive. Press on the circular top and images interchangeable. Three different pictures rotate with each press. I do wish that the sugar container and creamer container could be opened or somehow be made interatxruve as well because that was a cause of concern for my kiddos who desperately tried figuring out how to open them or see what they can do. The whole set has a whimsical design, and features the characters from the Disney Junior Alice show. When you push the top of the tea pot, it spins and reveals different characters. Twisting the bottom of the teacups also changes characters---so kiddos can select their favorite. The set also comes with a creamer pitcher, sugar bowl, stir-spoons, and little plates of plastic goodies. I personally love the cute heart cookies, and little cake.... they provide an additional fun element to the set, look pretty, and add more to the play. This tea set has been a hit. It already has seen a lot of enthusiastic play in a short time, and everyone in the house (and everyone who has visited), has been served imaginary tea. It promotes all the wonderful pretend play that a classic tea toy set does, only with modern whimsical twists (literally!), and fun familiar Disney characters.
