I ordered in plenty of time. It was delivered for days before his birthday. When I opened it the toy was damaged from before it got put in the box. He is really into excavators, dump trucks and such. Its the perfect combination with the CAT and trainset , The realistic sounds and lights makes this so very entertaining and engaging. It&rsquo;s great for eye &amp; hand coordination for them. The construction of it is sturdy, He sits there playing with it without it coming off the tracks, the track is wider so that helps. The vehicles seem to be very sturdy as well. He is absolutely overjoyed everytime he plays with it which is often. He loves watching it go around the tracks, it&rsquo;s very entertaining. If this is a gift you might want to tape down the hat because if you tap the top of the box it goes off so it would ruin a surprise. But the product out of the box keeps my kids very entertained! They loved helped putting the tracks together and they love that the trailer is detachable. However, the directions are not clear. The pictures of the buttons on the track are different than the train in the box. The train is also really hard to get on the track if it falls off. My 3 year old had a hard time doing it himself. There is 6 foot of track so it&rsquo;s perfect for your little one to play with. The set plays music and has sounds like a regular train would. The train stays on the track perfectly as long as no one picks the train up or moves it. We were able to set the whole thing up in about 10 minutes it was very simple and didn&rsquo;t take long at all. My little one plays with it at least 4-5 times daily she will set it off and let it go around and round a few times before doing her daily activities it&rsquo;s super cute. Its something that he can easily put together with very little adult assistance. The train is a great size. Big enough for him to play with but also not loose if he walks away. The sound and light features are very fun and draw him in. Even getting the attention of my 5 year old sighted. They love playing with it together. The little dump truck is his favorite. Very durable and and can handle rough hands. He loves dump trucks and trains so this was perfect. This train set is fun for my preschooler and he loves all the sounds it makes. It is a great size for his small hands. The controls are easy for him to use and it is really easy to put together. My 6 year old loves playing with it with his brother as well. This dump truck, train, and track are well made. The dump truck has made a couple of accidental trips down the stairs and still works great.
