There are three play modes that include instruments such as drums and piano, the standard rainbow colors, a fun mix of animals and a freestyle mode. This toy also has English, Spanish and French modes which is exciting for introducing baby to new languages. The images are painted onto the wood, so you do not need to worry about it peeling up easily. There is a plastic handle that makes this easy to grab and go for both kids and adults. The pictures can be touched to play the instrument or hear the color, or the blue button can be pressed in the middle for a random color or instrument. There is a handle to hold. It has three play modes and they are instrument mode introduces instrument name and sound, color/animal mode lets baby hear the names of the color and animal and then a freestyle mode. It also introduces languages like English, Spanish and French. It can be used as a floor toy or as a table top play surface as baby grows. It makes music with just a touch and there is no buttons. It is fun to touch and play. Even my 5 year old uses it to learn the name of the animals and colors in Spanish and French. This toy is recommended for ages 6-36 months, but I think it could be used for older kids with sensory issues, because not only the sounds are good, but it comes with a nice soothing and real voice, I think it is important to talk to kids that way for better understanding, pronunciation and learning.
