He's 2 &amp; enjoys the sounds. It's not to loud, but loud enough to hear well. I love that it's wooden &amp; not cheap plastic, as it's very durable. It's not to busy looking, has great color. It only takes two batteries. It has one easy on &amp; off button. It's simple &amp; fun. The music and the character is cute but other than we would not purchase something like this again. This puzzle is too easy for my oldest but he loved playing with it because of the song. My youngest loved it as well, he was able to put the puzzle pieces in the correct spots and loved taking the pieces in and out. The only issue (the reason for 3 stars) that I ran into is that part of the puzzle tore within a week of them playing with it. Not sure how it happened but I feel that if it is a kids toy that it should hold up better. My son loves to match the shapes with the animals. It really help him connect with the different animals while helping him with hand and eye coordination.
