<span itemprop="description">I am generally pleased with the Barbie® Fashionistas™ line of dolls that reflect more realistic body types and come with a variety of skin, hair and eye color. Mattel markets the dolls as, “…designed to reflect the world kids see today”. I purchased #188 for my granddaughter; the doll has a realistic body type but a very short skirt and no underwear…really? Is this a role model we are trying to provide to young girls? I sewed a pair of lilac underwear to match the doll’s dress but I suspect most buyers will not do this. I’m certainly not a prude, but if we are to provide realistic role models for our future leaders, let’s not “cheap out” -- provide underwear for the dolls and a higher quality necklace for the #188 model that will not frustrate a young person because it’s never stays in place and frequently falls off. Mattel’s efforts to market dolls that more accurately reflect our society is to be commended---it’s a good start, but customers would be willing to pay a little more for better quality and more attention to details (e.g., underwear).</span>

Additionally my daughter has throughly enjoyed playing with this Barbie Fashionista doll. She can be a little rough when she is playing, but the craftsmanship has held up extremely well and the doll still looks great!</span>

Now the one thing they did complain about is that all their Barbie clothes they have would not fit on her. Other than that they were happy with her and thought she was pretty!!</span>
