It kept their interest and brought out all kinds of creative ideas and team work. The instructions are super simple to follow with pictures. The drying time can be a little lengthy but I like the fact I don't have to worry about them having to heat anything or safety issues. A little water is all they need. The kit came with so many pieces it was more than enough for them to create all kinds of masterpieces and have plenty leftover for another day. I did this with my 9 year old son. The beads are small and bounce and roll so they are easy to lose or swallow if not super careful. My son really had to slow down and focus to accomplish piecing these together. She really loves the designs that can be made with this set and she loves the included board to display what she makes. The star shaped beads can be a little frustrating compared to the round beads because they don&rsquo;t seem to stick together as well, but they do still work. My 4 year old has also joined his sister making these.
