He got to the point of attaching the front and back together and we tried the gears to make sure it worked. At a certain point the crank had resistance and a gear popped out. Figuring he may not have assembled something correctly, I undid the pieces and rebuilt it myself. When we got to the same point of assembling the head with the body, the exact same thing happened. After many days and hours wasted, it&rsquo;s not complete and we are discouraged. It was moderately challenging and at well over 2000 pieces it took as a couple days to fully assemble. As we neared the end we noticed that the gears responsible for moving the front half weren&rsquo;t aligned correctly so we did a bit of backtracking to correct it. The box quality and packaging is really done well. The manual was bigger then I expected and I liked the way that a lot of numbered bags were used to keep the piles of parts smaller for each section of the products booklet. Once I started opening the bags it was really exciting to see how it would turn out, with a variety of building techniques and degrees of difficulty it kept the experience interesting. With no way to build it in one sitting it made for a great way to keep me busy for hours a day for a week! Some of the build was a bit on the advanced side which is good to keep them challenged. Some of the instructions were difficult to see where the piece belonged or if it was a moving part it had to be placed just right to allow it too work smoothly. Once the build was finished it looked and worked great. The colors are great, and the display factor compared to other builds makes it more appealing to look at. We love the subject matter of this build and like to spin the handle to make it move. The movement brings such life to this toy and a whole different level to building toys, which I hope to see more of. It sits on our table for anyone who stops over to give it a try, and it looks great in all settings, either in our building block display case or even on the coffee table. We can easily move it out of the way to use the table. We received our product late so please accept our apologies for the late review. My 11-year old son was so excited to receive this product to review. He found that the directions are a little confusing to say the least. He usually put a Lego product in his age range together in about 2 hours. I think the amount of pieces is a little overwhelming! The quality of the product is not an issue. The blocks snap together pretty easily so that helps in general. The instructions have red, gray, and black system outlining the bricks. It was confusing because there is thick outline on the instructions. This makes it hard to read. Also, there are so many bags of bricks to keep them organized. I also think it hard to get into the box. We were worried about cutting through the box and possibly damaging the bricks inside the box. The color of the dragon is pretty true to color. The first part is the back, a middle, and then the head. He likes the stand as well. He is a huge Pok&eacute;mon fan so he was super excited to build it. He is 12 and it was a bit difficult for him to complete by himself. The instruction book is huge so I stepped in to help. We had a great time building it together. Instructions were easy to follow and the numbered bags organized the build very well. We did have some difficulty getting the pieces to snap together. Some were so tight that if the top piece snapping onto the bottom one was sideways at all they wouldn&rsquo;t go together. You would have to straighten them out first. Taking them apart was equally as difficult. If you put the piece in the wrong spot it was hard to get them apart. That being said, it doesn&rsquo;t break very easily once it&rsquo;s together, so that&rsquo;s a plus. In the end the result was awesome! It is such a cool piece! My son doesn&rsquo;t normally keep these put together. Thrilled. He loves Pok&eacute;mon and building sets. Perfect combo. He also appreciates the extra detail of motion. He particularly enjoys that the directions are large and very clear, more so than similar building kits by other brands. He&rsquo;s not done with the kit yet, since we temporarily lost a crucial piece and that slowed us done for at least a week. So, my one thought would be, for such a large set&hellip;maybe there could be a couple more extra pieces? Otherwise all positive.
