It's just the right size for him to play with, not too small that hes constantly losing it but not too big that he cant easily take it around. He loves putting the blocks on the truck and taking them off. Freddy does lack a way to keep the child entertained. An addition of maybe some type of noise (I.e. siren) or flashing lights would be helpful. Overall a good product. My 2.5 year old loved the firetruck but does not really keep her attention for very long. I was disappointed that it came with very few blocks, can't build really anything with them and the top of the firetruck will not stay on so my 2.5 year old constantly thinks she broke iui t when it falls off. I don't think I would buy this for my kid, it doesn't keep her attention for very long and not much to it other then it is a shiny red firetruck that moves. I did like the little fireman it came with.
