The blocks are really quite nice too, and you can’t go wrong with wooden blocks for a young (and even an older) child. The trolley is proving to be surprisingly durable (and believe me when I say it’s been thoroughly tested). This is probably the best toy we’ve ever bought or received. The long version: My son got this for his 1st birthday, and at the same time we got him a much sturdier, heavier walker by Radio Flyer. Although the Radio Flyer one was much better for him in the very beginning to pull himself up to stand and start to be able to walk on his own (it also has a mechanism to prevent the wheels from rolling too fast so it doesn’t roll away from the baby and make him/her fall), this little Woodlets trolley became my son’s preferred walker once he got more confident walking with support. He thought the Radio Flyer walker was the best thing ever right after getting it, and the Woodlets one would not have been able to replace the purpose the heavier walker served. But the Woodlets one was light enough to turn on his own, which meant he could walk with it all around the house, as opposed to walking in one direction down a straight hallway and then needing help to turn around. After the first month or so, the Radio Flyer walker became obsolete for him but he has continued to use & play with this one almost daily for the past year (he’s almost 2 now). At around 17 months he became fascinated with lawnmowers and this trolley became his “lawnmower”. (Trying to push it on grass leads to too much frustration though so we don’t allow it outside anymore and he just pretends indoors). He makes up all sorts of “games” to play with it. The first one was just “bonking” it into furniture & stuff while saying “bonk!” in a low gravely voice and then laughing his little head off. Lately he enjoys lifting it up onto anything he can (the bed, change table, a stool), and—if we don’t stop him in time—knocking it off also. He also likes flipping it upside down and exclaiming “oh…NO!” and pretending to do some work on it with his toy screwdriver. He’ll sometimes make it roll (or tumble!) down his slide. He usually prefers it empty but will occasionally take small cars or his “snuggle puppy” for a ride in it. It’s one of the only toys we never rotate out. Considering the way our boy plays with his toys, I am amazed it hasn’t fallen apart a long time ago. It’s very durable. The handle feels a little looser than it did when it was new, but that (along with some scratches and a few crayon marks that I haven’t yet tried to remove) are the only signs of wear. We haven’t played with the blocks much yet because the only interest my son has in blocks so far is knocking down towers or throwing them, but you can’t go wrong with wooden blocks for a young child and I’m sure they’ll get lots of use eventually. They are nice blocks too. Overall: Excellent value for a well-made, classic, versatile, open-ended combination of toys for a child from about 1-year-old (or nearly walking) to preschool and up.
Date published: 2021-11-06

Rated 4 out of 5 by 007parent from Great deal We bought this on sale.
