What The Fluff introduced a concept that I hadn't previously seen before: the toy looks like a messy bunch of colourful purple &quot;fur&quot; when in the box...but shake it and quickly discover that it's actually a puppy with a whole whack of sounds and reactions. In general, the toy comes in two different options: kitten or puppy, but I can only speak to the latter, though the general idea is the same. Essentially the child has to coax out the inner animal from the fluff by shaking and petting it. Once the pup emerges, it can do all sorts of things, like roll, dance, play songs, etc. It's a cute idea but I noticed only went so far in entertaining my nieces (aged 5 and 6). I don't love the fact that it takes 3 AAA batteries - seems like the sort of thing that could be made nowadays with a built-in rechargeable battery to cut down on waste. Also, the name of the toy, while funny for adults, may not be the wisest - getting kids familiar with the phrase and tossing it around casually. I'm by no means clean-mouthed myself, but it just didn't sit right on this one. An interesting idea, but may be better geared towards younger kids rather than the recommended 5+ years. The sounds coming from this toy are so cute and adorable. The toy was shy at first but after awhile of playing she revealed her ears and eyes to their surprise. They tossed and rolled her around the house, tickling and playing with her. This little ball of fluff was honestly so adorable and entertaining. My 3 year old likes watching it from afar (she's a bit hesitant on toys that move and shake) but my 10 year old took to it ASAP, naming him &quot;Squeaky&quot; (my 3 year old helped with the naming process). I am a bit nostalgic when they play with this toy, it's like Furby's adorable, furry cousin. The kids were able to easily follow the instructions on the card to have it do different things like burp, dance and sing. Their favourite thing to do is turn it upside down, wait for the ears to pop back in and set it down on its head. It'll do a summersault! Be careful not to scare it like I did when I threw it too high -- it went back into fluff ball mode and we had to soothe it to play with us again (which of course made the kids want to scare it so they had the opportunity to gain its trust again). If my daughter conquers her fear of interactive toys, I can definitely see her wanting to include it in her everyday play -- she already invites Squeaky to play with her if I turn it off first. I would recommend this toy to anyone with kids who love to have something to take care of, especially if they want it to respond back to them. We found this toy to be super engaging and different than what is currently on the market. The packaging was eye-catching and it was fairly easy to remove from the box. I agreed but it didn't bother me. - This thing sheds! This is the number one reason why I may not buy again for myself or others - Both my 3y old and 8y old were super interested right out of the package After playing for 24h: - both kids go back to it several times. I think this is due to the &quot;trust&quot; level constantly going up and down. You can work hard to get it to trust you and then one throw in the air too high and it hides it features again and you have to start over gaining it's trust. It keeps it interesting. We love how when you put it upside down on a table it rolls and says &quot; ta da!&quot; - its not super loud, which is nice. The sounds it makes don't get annoying quickly, a huge plus for this type of toy - it is super durable. It has been thrown up in the air and landed on the floor several times. It has also fell off the table aountless times already. My 6 year old daughter was SO excited and has now been enjoying playing with this little fluffy furball for hours. The quality of the interaction is amazing and currently music mode is one of her favorites. The purple fluff is soft and the battery area is secure. As a parent I love that I can adjust the volume and even turn off the toy if needed. This has been such a wonderful toy, and with her birthday coming up at the end of the month, I think I will purchase the kitty version as well. It made him feel more like having a pet and encouraged more interaction. He did mention that it felt like there was a lot to keep track of, especially at the beginning but I thought the noises from the toy were easy to decipher and he naturally knew what to do when it sounded scared, for example. We did enjoy it for a while but like the Hatchimal, it quickly became repetitive and I was asked to babysit within the first half hour or so after we got it to the pet mode. My son is eight so that might be a little old for a toy like this but there was a lot of instructions to read so either have a child who can read themselves or an adult who can walk them through it when first starting out.
