I would say it is best for older kids or as something to do outside or with parents. The oil you add in, is a slime that is very sticky. It comes in a bag, which was not the easiest to get out. Then the sand gets everywhere. We decided the sand part was not a good idea and ended up tossing it. The instructions are only pictures, words would have helped a bit. Overall, my son does like this toy, but not enough to play with all the time. It took me a few days days because I had not ever heard of LRO3 AAA batteries. The AAA regular batteries worked just fine, the LRO3 did make the lights on the MEGA TREASBOT operate better and the hours of operational fun last longer. I love seeing him operate the toy and because he is 5 and sometimes gets rough with it and the material it&rsquo;s made from is sturdy, very well built . Every new line they come out with is better than the last, and this Mega Treasure Bot is awesome! There is an ooze-like oil and every one has &ldquo;gold&rdquo; treasure instead of chance of gold, which is always exciting to find, then you use it to &ldquo;activate&rdquo; the robot. It lights up the chest area and eyes and talks/makes noise. The little figure can sit in the head. It's a very good size and not just your average action figure. It lights up and makes sounds which he loves and there's actually a lot of moving pieces then he can use while he's playing with it. It's a treasure hunter so it actually even comes with &quot;gold&quot;. It's actually pretty decent quality as far as toys like these go, he's been playing with it for a couple of weeks now and it's survived which is a good thing. I think he really likes it because it's larger than most action figures and he can carry it around and take it with him whatever room he is in so he can play with it. He does spend a lot of time playing with it over his other toys so I would say it was a great toy to purchase. I would not recommend this for smaller children as there are a lot of pieces and parts that could possibly be a choking hazard but anyone over the age of saying five or six should be great to play with this. It also lights up and makes different noises when you put the special &ldquo;screw&rdquo; in on its chest. They black slime with sprinkles looks great as the &ldquo;oil&rdquo;. The only complaint my kids had was the sand was in a ball and did not spill out like the picture when the toy broke the box in its tool. This toy has kept them busy for hours playing with it! They stayed busy and quiet for a good 2 hours. The robot has so many features and tool you use to create different sounds and lights.
