My girls loved watching their bear come to life after reading his promise and giving him his heart. They love caring for the bear and try their very best not to make him cry. My 3 year old loves running around with him in her little toy pram and listening to him laugh with excitement as she does. And my 5 year old loves cuddling the bear and tucking him in for bed every night. The handmade feel to the bear is very nice and the cute little head movements, winks and sounds are fab. However it's just sounds and not words. I like the expressions from thready bear but had it said words and phrases too I think it would very much be worth the price. The children love it though and thready bear is very much a part of daily play here. And I love the vocal expressions it makes, it just makes you want to cuddle it more. The only fiddly part (and which we have already lost) is the heart. It's not easy to keep the knot on. I wasn't a fan of sleep mode either as a) if by mistake the arm got pressed, the music started again and b) I'm not sure it's a good idea to let my DS sleep with it when the head of Thready Bear is so hard. On last con is that it is not machine washable so need to be careful where and how it is played with. We loved the promise and threading on the heart although it would be helpful to have a more secure way of attaching the heart as we found the thread kept coming undone. After having a good read of the instructions, I took the bear out ready for the children to read the promise, encased in a cute giant button. My daughter then threaded the heart and tied a bow (for the first time, good practice!) and pressed the heart. Thready came to life and the kids were over the moon. He laughed when they tickled him, cried if he fell over and cheered when they chucked him in the air. The moving eyes are very fun and even wink. They love taking him to bed (though turn him off as they don't want him 'coming to life' in the night). We had to replace the demo batteries soon after,but that was to be expected. He feels very sturdy and not easily broken. He is an interactive toy that the kids have looked after. He has a button on his box when he arrives that has a promise to look after him. Even though he is interactive, he is padded so can have cuddles. He interacts with touch, movement (throwing him up and down) and cries if he is dropped. He plays little songs. It is a lovely toy for children to learn about caring and looking after their toys and other children. Both of my children have loved it and they are four and eight.
