Once it was charged, we launched it and were unable to get the steering to work properly. It would not go in the correct direction. We tried the barrel roll feature, and it worked one time and then never again. After the second charge, it would start flashing an error and stop working every time it landed. We messed with it for over an hour before giving up. He loves playing with drones but some have been too complicated for him in the past. This drone was super easy for him to figure out and him and dad took turns checking it out. It does some pretty neat tricks that after a while they were able to get them just right. Its perfect for my little man! It did go pretty high up but we didn't take it to the max because we live by a creek and don't want it possibly landing in there or getting lost. it doesn't take too long to recharge, which is a must for a impatient kid. It has some fun stunt features that adds excitement while also having the traditional flight characteristics of a drone. Aside from the remote batteries, everything comes included, like the charger and extra propeller blades. The remote needs 4 AA batteries that you&rsquo;ll need to provide yourself. To install them, you&rsquo;ll need a small screwdriver to remove the cap on the bottom of the remote. After about an hour of charging, you&rsquo;re ready to fly. If you&rsquo;ve flown a drone before, the controls are very similar. You&rsquo;ll be able to hover in one location and there is a landing assist to help you put the drone down safely. The main claim is a barrel roll stunt, which you are able to execute with some practice. If you have young kids, it&rsquo;ll take some time for them to get used to the controls. If your young kids are hoping to fly it on their own right out of the box, they&rsquo;ll need some patience and practice. Wind will play a big factor in your experience. You&rsquo;ll need a day with virtually no wind if you want to fly it well. I&rsquo;ve noticed that just the slightest breeze has a big affect on its flying ability and it&rsquo;s stunts. Its large frame gets pushed around by the wind and that&rsquo;s a big reason why in my opinion. If you have zero experience with drones or if you&rsquo;re looking to get one for your child, this Thunderbolt Jet X2 is a good start. Don&rsquo;t set your expectations too high, but it&rsquo;s a very basic drone that is able to do some stunts. Its made of lightweight foam for durability and can be used both indoor and out. Would highly recommend that you read the manual before you start flying it. The drone would need to be synced to the remote controller first and would need to trimmed out as well. As soon as I had turned mine on, it went straight into the wall. The controls do take a bit of getting used to so I would recommend that you fly it indoor first, less of chance of your done getting lost or damaged, and once you have everything figured out then take it for a spin outdoor. The drone can be charged with a provided USB-C cable and they also provide extra propellers for the drone. The remote controller takes 4 AA batteries which are not included. It was easy to setup as it only needed to be charged and paired with the remote control. It was easy to lift off and took a little bit a time to get it to a stable position without drifting away. I used in indoors and it worked well. Since I live in a windy neighborhood, I didn't dare fly it outside as it would of been too light handle any wind. However, every time i turned it on and started to fly it, it would continue to drift off like it did not keep the previous settings. After a couple days, it just stopped working. It wouldn't pair with the remote control anymore. It would start blinking red lights. I first noticed the foam construction is very lightweight which created a good environment for flying. It takes some getting used to, but has held up very well through a lot of use so far.
