The nipples are really soft and they get so much less air prevents them from colic. She also reduced her spit up after using these bottles. Now she has little to no spit up each bottle. My Lo liked the pacifiers too, these are the first ones that have the plastic/hard back that she would take! The only other pacifier she will use are the smoothies. I was a bit skeptical about testing other brands of bottles because we had done so well with what we were using brands but I was definitely pleasantly surprised. No spit up incidents as a result of using the bottles. We also really, really love the sippy cup trainer attachment. My son uses it constantly as he's starting to feed himself. Another surprise win was the bottle brush which is great at cleaning and easier to hold than some of the round-topped brushes you normally find. I used a diff brand of bottle with my first 2 children and then for the first few months with our 3rd baby before trying these bottles. In comparison I really thought the Philips Avent bottle did reduce how much my baby was spitting up and needing to be burped. Assembly of the bottle is simple and easy to use even during night time feedings. Also giving you the different nipple flows in the set was great as you never know when baby will need to move to a faster rate and it's great to be prepared ahead of time. I wish the bottle brush that came in the set had something that could clean the bottle insert but it's still manageable. With so many bottle options out there, it&rsquo;s hard to find the &ldquo;right&rdquo; one. I had a few bottles given as gifts or as samples at baby expos, etc., and out of all of the different types my little guy liked the Avent &ldquo;natural&rdquo; bottle best. I was so happy he liked the bottle (I had to go back to work full-time when he was 8 weeks old), but he was still having a ton of trouble with gassiness. Gas would keep him up for hours at a time causing him so much discomfort. I was very lucky when this gift set arrived. A big thank you to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this bottle set to test out and review! My son immediately found it easier to swallow from this bottle. He was no longer choking on air from the bottle during feedings, and his discomfort from gas while sleeping lessened. This anti-colic bottle set definitely does what it claims to and keeps more of the air out of baby&rsquo;s system. I can thank these bottles for more sleep, that&rsquo;s for sure! The bottlebrush fits easily into the bottles, but I do prefer another brush of mine that&rsquo;s a bit larger with softer bristles/foam. The shape of this one is nice to get into the ridges though. Compared to other bottle brands these bottles only have 4 large pieces and are much easier to clean! I also put them in the dishwasher and none of the parts are so small that they get lost. I haven&rsquo;t used the formula dispenser because I don&rsquo;t use formula yet, but it appears to be easy-to-use and functional, and small enough to fit into the diaper bag. I&rsquo;m looking forward to using the sippy cup in a month or two once he&rsquo;s old enough! Given that he likes Avent bottles, pacifiers and nipples best, I&rsquo;m sure he will like this sippy cup best too. I went out and purchased a couple more of these Avent anti-colic bottles in the larger 9 oz size since receiving this gift set because they&rsquo;re my baby&rsquo;s favorite bottle. Now that he&rsquo;s eating larger amounts at a time at 3+ months old I&rsquo;ve found it helpful to have more of the larger 9 oz bottles as well. I also pump 5-6 oz at a time in the mornings, so I use the larger bottles for those pumping sessions and the smaller 4 oz bottles for my afternoon pumping sessions. I like it a lot but there are a few things worth noting. In general I like Philips Avent products. They are well made for the most part. After trying this bottle I really like it. I like the shape, style and feel of it. I've tried other Philips Avent products and for some reason I like this one best so far. It seems like less bottle and is easier to handle. I think this is a great baby shower gift and encourage new parents to try these. Philips is a good brand and definitely worth the try. They are sold everywhere and when you want to get additional parts its easy to find in stores and online. The good: You get two different nipple sizes so you can switch them as baby grows. My daughter is four months and we used the level 2 nipple and it flows more than expected but, she is handling it well. I think she is liking that she doesn't have to work so hard to get the milk. The level 1 nipple would still work if all the 2's were being washed so lucky us! The parts are very easy to clean. We've used this bottle a few times and I can verify no colic!! I like the feel of the bottle in my hand and how easy it is to handle. The pacifier is simple but cute and comes with a little cover which is perfect for travel. I thought it was nice to be able to grab it and put it in my picket on my way out the door with out the chance of getting any lent on it. The transition cup handle is easy to attach to any bottle. I tried it with my four month old daughter and she likes to hold one side while I feed her. She's not quite ready for me to stop holding yet but, it is great that she already is getting used to the feel. The not so good: Even with the nipple super secure it seems I got very small leak out the top of the bottle once or twice. The anti colic air-free vent is easy to install but, you have to turn the bottle around to a certain angle to get the milk to flow in. Nothing tricky but, I started feeding her with out looking at the direction and the milk wasn't coming through. Once I turned it the nipple filled with milk and stays filled to not get any air through which is why it works so well for anti-colic. Just something to note, not a deal breaker. The brush is nice and sturdy but, seems like too much brush for the size of the bottles and not practical for cleaning the nipples. I love that this set came with a soft spout that will be a nice transition to a sip cup kind of thing with the handle. I definitely recommend this set since it comes with so many components. I feel like being a new parent it is best to have a lot of things on deck so you don't always have to run out to buy and try. Also it's a better deal to get all at once instead of buying separately. This gift set is a one stop shop for bottle, anti colic, two nipple sizes, handles, formula dispenser and soft spout sippy cup nipple. Due to nursing issues and medical needs, he breastfeeds and takes formula. He receives a bottle at least once a day. We tried the Philips Avent's bottle with air free vent. Our son, due to reflux, frequently spits up after feedings and even projectiles sometimes. After using the air free vent, we noticed his spit up occurred less often and he did not seem to be in as much discomfort during feedings. (He will sometimes arch his back if he is uncomfortable as a result of reflux.) The formula dispenser was great to throw in his diaper bag for daycare. I work part-time and the formula dispenser had room for enough formula for three 8-oz bottles. More than enough for him for a full day at daycare, if needed. I also used the formula dispenser on a recent family vacation. It was great not needing to bring a large, bulky container to prepare bottles. A point of frustration I had with using the bottles was finding where the air free vent was located. I would fill the bottle up with water and formula then feed the bottle to my son. By the time the bottle was full, it was difficult to see where the green air free vent was located. This is important since the directions call for the air free vent to be up to avoid air intake. Sometimes we would have to wait until our son drank some of the formula in order to ensure we had the bottle positioned properly. Another minor issue I encountered was having enough room for the water and formula AND air free vent. Making a full 8 oz bottle was a tight squeeze to fit everything in. Sometimes the formula tended to stick to the air free vent if I tried to shake the bottle for mixing purposes. I learned to mix the formula THEN add the air free vent from trial and error. Overall, we are new fans of the bottles and continue to use them daily for our son. With a reflux baby, we love having something that cuts down on the spit ups and discomfort!
