This was a nice surprise! My kids were super pumped once we opened the big box that showed up at our doorstep! Its over 2 feet long and around 1.6 feet in height. I love the fact that its rechargeable and charges fast. It has LED indicators for low battery warning which is quite helpful. Its powerful, fast and turns well with the remote control. The remote control requires 2 AAA batteries. It moves forward, reverses, and goes left and right with controls. Everyone in our house is obsessed with toy cars and trucks, so it was a nice addition to our collection! The kids cannot even wait to try this out. It comes with a small remote that requires 2 AA batteries. The monster truck needs to be charged via usb and usb connector comes with it. The cord wasnt long enough though so you need an extension. 2 boys and a dog are a handful and they play rough and it withstand the outdoor element. Its light enough as the wheels are made out of styro that it can be carried by a 4 year old. Manufacturer recommended not to use it where there is water due to the usb connection thats under the truck but it is tall enough that it can go through small muddy puddles in the backyard. Its also awesome that it is rechargeable, instead of having to keep finding batteries for it. My kids tested it on all kinds of surfaces it goes SUPER FAST on roads (or the dining room floor), and travels really well over grass and dirt. I've always refrained from buying remote control toys before because of how fragile and difficult to maneuver they are on top of being extremely loud and getting stuck at every corner. After trying a first RC that didn't quite met my expectations two years ago, I was glad to be selected to try this one and give RCs another chance ! On top of the very cute design, this RC is tough and made to last! I stopped counting how many times my little one crashed it against something or ran it down the stairs and it doesn't even have a scratch yet. The (waterproof) foam tires make this gigantic RC really light and give it enough power to go fast. And I mean fast. Even my dogs are trying to catch it all around the backyard without success. Another plus side is how it will actually go over any types of terrain and even water! with no issues whatsoever. Even though we have yet to use it on water, I was impressed by how easily it goes over tree roots, rocks, grass, mud, rough terrain and any other kind of obstacles. It makes this toy even more fun and enjoyable for the whole family. The joystick is very easy to use even for my 4 years old. She can drive it in forward or reverse, left or right and she's even making it do donuts now! The fact that the remote can control this RC from up to 100 feet away is also super convenient, impressive and even more enjoyable for kids and adults. The only improvement to be made would be the battery life. It's fairly short. It needed to be charged after about 40 minutes of intense use. The batteries do charge fast but considering the size of this RC, I would expect the battery life to be a little better. Otherwise, Olivia loved it as well as the rest of the family and I would absolutely consider buying a back up one that we can use while the battery is charging. It's quick, but not so fast as one of the hobby-shop grade R/C's that are hard to control. It is 4WD so can crawl through mud, snow, ice or gravel. We have built ramps for it, it crawls over rocks, it is so much fun. It has a modular 'throttle', so if you just touch lightly it will crawl over obstacles. Some of the cheaper R/C trucks just have 'go' or 'stop', they don't allow you this control. The controller has two thumb joysticks - one controls the left two wheels, the other controls the right two wheels. It turns more like a tank than a truck, because one set of wheels stops while the other turns. This means it can do fun spins in the sand, and makes a simple 4WD system. The best part by far is that it has sealed waterproof components and floating tires, meaning it can go where most R/C's can't. This monster truck is huge! It has a remote control which requires batteries. The Megalodon has a USB charger which I found amazing and much better than putting in more batteries. It tucks back into the compartment when you finish charging it. Make aure you secure the flap properly so that no water will come in. I really like that feature. Overall, this toy is amazing and my children love it and will spend hours outdoors just driving it around everywhere. The megalodon can drive over obstacles and even drive in water which the kids found very fascinating. It cannot be submerged in the water. The only part I was iffy about were the wheels at first but now I understand that they were designed that way and the material that was used so that the monster truck can drive both on land and water.
