It combines two things my son loves...dogs and cars!! It was super easy to follow the directions and assemble. He actually did it himself, and he is only 8. He loves launching the monster truck and smashing it into the crate. He laughs every time. It's so clever and creative, and when his friends come over, that's what they want to play with first. Who doesn't enjoy monster trucks and destruction? This kit is built well, and seems to hold up to play better than some of the competitor products. My kid thought it was super cool. He loved playing with it and showing me all the fun things he could do. It was easy to assemble. There aren't a ton of parts to keep track of. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it. The one thing that I think is nice is it would make a great gift for the holidays or a birthday. The box is big and has fun graphics so the kids think they are getting a really nice gift and it's relatively inexpensive compared to other toys. The toy itself is pretty substantial for the price. It comes with one monster truck so you don't have to purchase any additional items for them to play with it. We have other monster jam products so it made a nice addition to our toy collection. To keep the fun going we had competitions with the 4 trophy accessories. I wish that we had more stickers to place on the monster jam truck and ramp base. The dog monster truck is a cute design and is nice and sturdy. The rest of it sets up easily by clicking together and it won't be too long before the kids can play with it. I think it is still best suited for younger kids because it will hold their attention longer and find fun things for the truck to crash into. It was extremely easy to put together, my kiddo wanted to try to assemble without help and he could tell just by looking at the box how to put it together, and was able to snap everything into place and place stickers in less than 5 minutes. The crate that the monster truck crashes into breaks open easily and my son had fun putting different toys into it to see how much he could make 'explode'. He got about 2 hours straight fun out of it before he took a break. My 3 year old little dude definitely fits the bill! The assembly instructions are very clear, which made it very easy to put the playset together. The pieces are made out of durable plastic that so far, makes me believe that this set will actually last a while, (even with how rough my 3 year old is with things)! The dalmatian monster truck was a hit with my dog loving kiddo and it is of quality build. As far as the toy's performance in action, the mechanism of the launcher makes for a very smooth jump and crash into the box hanging from the crane. Upon impact, a satisfying explosion of bones and other crash pieces ensues and, in my case, so do the excited giggles of my 3 year old. Bonus: Apparently, the launcher is great for using to see how other toys interact with gravity as well.
