The magnet in the “scooper” is strong and picks up the “ice cream” easily. This isn’t a toy that will take away your child’s attention for a long time, so this won’t be hours of play. It’s great for 10-15 minutes of pretend play. The board and pieces are top quality, they are very well made and sturdy. I only have two wishes: that the board was magnetic so that the pieces would stay inside the board easily (you know how quickly toys with lots of pieces get lost!) and that the “spoons” were magnetic, that way the ice cream would attach when my son is pretend eating.</span>
