He loves the large size of the character and has enjoyed using it for creative play. However, he is very good at building sets like this and he had a difficult time understanding all of the building instructions. Some of the steps were confusing even for me as an adult. We figured it out together and had a great time with it overall. There were a lot of pieces in the box with very clear directions to assemble. Putting this together with my son was so much fun. He really enjoys playing with it. He loves Pok&eacute;mon and charmander is one of his favorite characters! The build was just difficult enough that he didn&rsquo;t get bored and wasn&rsquo;t over challenged. He was able to build the set entirely by himself. He has O.D.D and can get easily frustrated but he didn&rsquo;t with this build. He got stuck in a few areas but was able to figure it out and now has his build next to his bed showing it to everyone proudly. This was a huge win for him! He usually has a difficult time with LEGO items and their instructions. However, he was able to easily follow along and complete the build for this. It kept him engaged and occupied even after he finished it. The blocks are sturdy and the items moves easily - especially the mouth that opens and closes. She loves Pokemon as well as building the different characters from blocks. The pieces are separated&nbsp;into 7 different bags, although I am not sure why. During construction we had to take different pieces from different bags. I thought that they would have been separated&nbsp;for a reason. The instructions were a little difficult to follow but the colored dots on the pages helped a bunch. My 7 year old daughter quickly became overwhelmed with this 180 piece kit and lost interest. My 14 year old son had to jump in and help. He is a very experienced block builder and it took him about 2 hours to complete this set. The blocks are a little hard to snap together, but are durable. Once the toy was put together my daughter was very excited again. She loved it. She began playing with it right away. This Charmander set has very cute details and his parts are movable, so you can pose him in different positions. My daughter liked that he has his attachable fire attack coming out of his mouth. All in all this is a well detailed, durable toy that does not fall apart when played with.
