It has a volume control (low, high and off) and it does shut off by itself if not played with to preserve battery life. It does come with batteries too so it’s ready to play straight of the box.
It has many great features and activities to help kids learn to count, helps with shapes, the alphabet, colors, animals, feelings, music and a clock (which only provides the hour) I do wish when it’s counting that it would go slower so kids can follow along too, just seems a bit fast for kids starting to learn.
The pages are wipeable in case they get dirty and aren’t made of paper but I guess you could say thin plastic which is great so they can’t get torn out or anything.
I think the handle on this toy is cute for little hands to tote around and it’s nice to take in the car or a doctor appointment so they have something to do.
I definitely recommend this toy as it’s a great learning tool for little ones.</span>

My children are learning their letters, shapes, colors, numbers 1 to 10, identifying animals, things in the community, songs and more. They are also learning how to tell time on the adorable clock above the school. This is one of their favorite learning toys. We also bring it along on car rides and they take turns. Highly recommended for all preschoolers.</span>

He loves pointing out animals , colors, shapes, letters and numbers. It is bright and colorful and the pictures are fun. He feels like such a big boy when he gets things correct. This is a fun way to have him learn and get ready for kindergarten.
There are 3 learning modes and challenges And 12 pages of activities to keep it new and exciting. There is a volume control and an on/off switch , it powers off automatically when it is not in use. It requires 2 AA batteries that are included.</span>

It is very easy to use as well. I have been trying to keep her away from the iPad and this has really helped.</span>

<span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toy came at just the right time for our 5-year old who is preparing for kindergarten after an extra long summer break courtesies of the pandemic. It holds his interest well and is exclusively educational in nature, so I encourage him to play with it regularly. At some point he gets tired of worksheets, so this has been a nice change of pace to incorporate into his learning at home. As a bonus, our 2-year old has taken quite a liking to it as well. As a parent, I appreciate the built-in handle, batteries being included, and the product's durability, as the kids are, well, kids, and rough on just about everything.</span>

There’s lots of pages with different levels of activities, and not just boring ones like counting and colors, but paint color mixing and instrument sounds. Unlike other leapfrog toys this one didn’t require additional downloads from a computer. It makes it much easier and kids are happier getting the toy working straight out of the box.</span>

The "12" colorful pages are thick card stock, not cardboard so he doesn't ruin them when flipping the pages over and over. They can touch the pictures and the book comes to life with learning phrases and songs. We can practice telling time by turning the hour hand on the clock. Love that it's interactive. The child touches the image to hear the word associated with pictures. Teaches words and animal sounds plus other features.</span>

There's so many activities to do, she likes repeating certain things that it says, so she's learning by repitition. There's 5 pages, front & back, plus there's the front and back cover. It has 3 settings, 1, 2 and ?. So the 3 settings plus all the pages, your child can get multiple activities. Bright colors, and simple drawings. There's 2 volume settings and you can clearly hear what the pad is saying. This would even be really good for a child who doesn't speak english, to learn how.</span>
