My 3 year old is obsessed with this toy. Prior to receiving this toy, he loved playing pretend ice cream shop and would use anything on hand to pretend to be ice cream. When we got this in the mail, he was so happy! He's delighted by the fact that you can drop the ice cream into a cone or into a cup. While he prefers to play with someone else, when I reach my limit, we turn on the sound function. He likes listening to the pretend orders and making them. It's a good 10-minute distraction for him (a long time for him). My daughter is 3 and loves it. However one drawback is that when you pull the lever the ice cream doesn&rsquo;t always land straight. You can see in the attached video. Some of the tasks it gives require 2 scoops so that can be more difficult. I do like that each color scoop of ice cream can only fit in one hole. They&rsquo;re all different sizes so it teaches them color as well. There&rsquo;s also toppings you can add to the ice cream. I do love how it is all self storing as well so there&rsquo;s not pieces everywhere. There&rsquo;s also 2 different volume settings so you don&rsquo;t have to listen to a super loud toy. All in all a pretty good toy. My daughter gives it 2 thumbs up. I like that pulling the levers dispenses the ice creams and that it&rsquo;s easy for a child to refill the ice cream slots. It has lights and music, which my older child enjoys but I do wish there was an option to just have &ldquo;customer orders&rdquo; and &ldquo;counting games&rdquo; without the flashing lights and songs. So it can be quieter and not capture my other kids attention. You can play with it without batteries but it does take away some of the independent play aspect unless the child can come up with their own &ldquo;orders&rdquo; to create. It&rsquo;s well made as all leap frog toys are and pretty indestructible. No assembly required, just pop in the included ice cream scoops and ready to play. My son who is 2 loves making me ice cream and it helps him with his colors and putting which colors/flavors go together.
