That excitement quickly turned to frustration by bag #3 and only got worse with each additional bag. He was so upset, he quit by bag #9. He said it was too difficult. The build quality of the set was horrible compared to the sets I remember playing with as a child. The set was so fragile, it would fall apart evertime he tried to attach a piece. He loves the minifigures but the set has zero playability. It's a shame Lego has opted to artificially boost the piece counts by using smaller pieces. This is clearly evident in how the set uses multiple small plates instead of using a traditional baseplate. I don't know when Lego started this trend, and I'm sure it benefits their bottom line, but it's horrible for kids. Clearly this Lego set is only meant to be looked at and not played with. I really only bought it because it reminded me of the OG battle for new ninjago city and it looked pretty much the same. However, it really is quite hard to move and breaks easily. It has a weird mech which some might like, but i don't know if it is necessary. I really liked that it had Wu.
