Lower the bars to secure the riders into the roller-coaster cars. Then release the brake to send the train to the foot of the elevator. However, I did have some skepticism. I still decided to purchase and I'm glad I did. I will admit when I first put it together, it wasn't working 100% of the time, but after rebuilding, it works like a charm. I got the opportunity of rebuilding several of the features moving the set, but again, got it working 100% of the time. If I were to offer suggestions, the building instruction pictures could have been better. Several times they only show part of the coaster and it was hard to tell where the build was happening.
