Building the mechanical components and understanding over time how the typewriter was going to work was so rewarding. This was honestly the most fun I have had in a long, long time. Most of the other functions you would expect to move and make noise do, which is pretty neat. It doesn't actually type of course, but that doesn't take away from the cool factor. Very technical and fun build. As a professor of Information Systems/Technology I love how this typewriter captures the important influence that analog technologies had on society before the advent of digital input devices such as the keyboard.
