<span itemprop="description">I’m infuriated that the radio pointer slides the opposite direction of the knob turn. Turn the knob to the right and the pointer goes to the left and vice versa. I can’t get over it. It isn’t me. It’s the design. This bothers me to no end! The second gear on the back side of the tuner knob messes this up. If the 2 pegs were reversed and the knob turned from the yellow instead of brown peg, it would work perfectly fine! I am truly baffled.
Anyway it’s cute. It was fun to put together. It works correctly other than this silly knob. I enjoy seeing it and I think it’s really cool that I can put my phone in there and pretend it’s a real radio. Overall I’m pleased with my purchase.</span>

Put the battery into place however the radio did not work. Disappointed but I will open the battery and more than likely, make a change.

<span itemprop="description">I agree with all of the praise that has been heaped upon this model. It looks great, the functions are clever and I enjoyed building it. But I do have one complaint: each side of the radio's "case" consists of 28 pieces of beautifully molded teal plastic, and once assembled are rather heavy. There are 28 pieces in each side, and they are each 6" long. Yet their attachment to the model consists of only two points of contact, and neither can be said to be Lego's sturdiest type of contact. There could have easily been four or more connections. I found one side or the other to keep popping out as I continued to build beyond their attachment, leading me to do what, I'm sure is abhorrent to all builders of Lego's fine models: I broke out the Gorilla glue and did what I had to do.</span>

The build experience was excellent, the dials and knobs are very interesting and cleverly designed. It was fun to see how they worked. Took 2-3 hours to build and I am very happy with the final product. I have a large phone and it fits perfectly in the back and the sound comes through fine. The sound brick is a fun addition too.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This is the third Lego set I’ve built myself. And I honestly did not find instructions confusing or the build to be hard at all. Time consuming? Of course it is, it’s Lego! But overall a great time to build, I did miss one small piece near the end that was no issue to place, cute how a phone can fit inside to ‘play tunes’. Sound brick wasn’t an issue for me, I find the on and off button is just for decor not for function. Exploring the radio stations is a fun little experience. Love the look of the build and building it was fun!</span>

<span itemprop="description">As several other reviewers have mentioned, the mechanism for operating the sound brick does not work well. I was able to get the on/off & tuning mechanism to work right away, but the tuner usually jams when the sound brick is installed. I have taken the set apart and reassembled several times with similar results. The completed build is also quite delicate and fragile.
I have a hard time understanding why so many people who had the same problems have given this a 4-star review - this is the most disappointing Lego set I've built to date.
The radio is cute though, I'll give it that.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I brought this for my adult son as a birthday gift, he's a massive lego fan and has large collection of lego builds. He was very impressed with the lego retro radio, the moving parts are great and the fact that it plays tunes is even better.
It looks amazing now complete, and it is a great display piece for any collectors collection.
I would highly recommend.</span>
