<span itemprop="description">Overall good build and nice looking however, with hundreds of studs left exposed on exterior surface it has an unfinished look to me. So I added teeth plates to top of the walls, smooth 1x4 and torches to the faces of the walls and smoothed out the bridge. Looks much better and more menacing. Also added LED light strip under the build on a simple custom cut base to light the lava. Turned out epic.</span>

<span itemprop="description">As incredible as this set is, and it really is stunning, the one I received had lots of incorrectly coloured pieces. As such, I not only can't continue until I receive the correct pieces from Lego, which can take up to two weeks, but now I'm nervous about continuing because, after finding so many incorrectly coloured pieces, I'm worried I'm going to hit a road block and find more. I guess Lego have downsized their QA team, which is having a very noticeable impact on newer sets.
Hopefully this is just a one-off, as if I buy another large, expensive set like this and experience similar QA issues I'm going to be reluctant to buy more.
Additionally, going to post my review, I've noticed the ratings I selected, particularly the 'Build Experience' one keeps increasing from 2-stars to 4 before I submit the review. Really bad form, Lego.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Un set sublime et très imposant de part sa taille mais aussi sa largeur et profondeur, prévoyez la place avant de l'acquérir. Le set est plaisant à construire, sans grandes répétions, les détails sont sympas et il est très excitant de voir la tour s'élever au fur et à mesure de la construction. L'effet amovible du set le rend particulièrement pratique à transporter sans avoir peur de le faire tomber. Les minifigurines sont très réussies, mention spéciale à Sauron dont le casque est merveilleusement réalisé. Un point négatif tout de même sur la brique éclairante qui est censée sublimer l'Œil de Sauron, il n'en est pas grand chose, obligé de maintenir le bouton pour la garder allumer et n'éclaire pas tant que ça l'œil, un artifice peu utile. Toutefois le mécanisme de la porte est très bien réussi et se fond parfaitement dans le décor. Pas beaucoup d'autocollant (12) ce qui est un point positif, contrairement à d'autres sets, comme ceux de chez Marvel qui en possède plus d'une quarantaine ! Enfin petite mention pour ceux qui ont le set Rivendell. Le contraste entre ces deux sets mis côte à côte est magnifique, d'un côté l'obscurité du Barad-dûr et d'un autre la clarté de Rivendell font que ces deux sets vont de paire. Je recommande vivement ce set à tous les fans de LOTR, vous ne serez pas déçu je vous le garantis !</span>

<span itemprop="description">This is really a great set. It looks spectacular on display, the interior has lots of cool rooms and easter eggs, and the mini-figure line-up is very impressive, especially Sauron. It's a solid value too, with 5400+ pieces being a good rate for the price.
My only quibbles are small: I would've added a Nazgul and maybe one more orc to the mini figures and some of the spikes on the outside of the tower can come off a bit easily. Still, these are minor points and I would definitely recommend this set.</span>

Un temps de construction satisfaisant pour un résultat extraordinaire avec beaucoup de détails et de très belles minifigures exclusives (mention spéciale pour Sauron). Le gros bémol demeure dans la présence de stickers dans la décoration de la tour dont certains auraient pu être évités et cela trahit un choix de la facilité qui fait grimacer. Un autre point négatif est la mauvaise gestion du stock pour le set Fell Beast (n°40693) offert en cadeau pour l'achat de la tour. J'ai acheté le set bien après la promotion suite aux très mauvais retours sur la difficulté à se le procurer... Je recommande ce set de Barad-Dûr !</span>

<span itemprop="description">This set is a perfect addition to the Lego collection for Lord Of The Rings. It brings to life an impressive structure from one of my favorite fantasy worlds. Lets start the review with the sets physical appearance.
Physical Appearance- It manages to be tall, impressive, dark and intimidating all at the same time. The flowing lava and molten rock add a great contrast to the base of the tower with its gloss black walls. The designers have managed to create a tower that looks like it was removed from the rock and plopped right on your display. The silhouette is amazing. No matter what the lighting is, you can immediately identify it. The interior manages to tell the story with details throughout the few rooms all while adding small bits of humor. The only negative I can think of (it is very minor) is how the light looks when shining on the eye. This is easily modified by adjusting the angle or utilizing a different lighting source.
Build experience- This build utilizes many intriguing methods especially for the walls. It contains many awesome mechanical features like the opening gate. It can be slightly repetitive at times but well worth it in the end. The set is divided into three sections which allow for a natural stopping point to maximize your building experience. This method is fantastic for families and groups of people who want to make it a group project. Just split the bags and match them with the correct instruction booklet, divide and conquer. The build time is perfect for sitting back and reliving the world of Lord of the Rings in the movies. I was exceedingly content with this build. It shows the extreme expertise of your designers. The tidbits sprinkled throught the books are always fun to read and enhance the process.
Price- The fact that lego sets of this caliber are expensive is no small secret. However, I believe this price to be fair for such a fantastic looking set.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Great build overall, however few areas of the build could have done with a little more refinement. Light brick is a wonderful touch, but could have been positioned better to fully illuminate the eye.
Extra info/background in the instructions is a nice idea but please Lego, get your lore right - for the effort that went into the design, it feels like you took shortcuts here as some of it is plain wrong!

<span itemprop="description">I love this set. I was a fairly straight forward build with the exception of the throne. The throne just doesn't feel very secure. I love the ease in which the top tower(s) separate from the base. Of course the detailing is amazing. The only thing I am disappointed in is the light functionality of the eye. Alight up (that you have to hold) brick facing the eye was a pretty big let down considering the impact of the eye itself. I have purchased an after market light kit that truly make this set spectacular but I wish that Lego had provided a more robust solution for the lighting of the eye for the price point of the set.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This build is absolutely stunning. The finished product is beautiful and the hidden features and easter eggs are top notch. I so badly wanted to give this set 5 stars, however I cannot due to one reason. I am not sure if this is specific to me but the structural integrity of the set is really lacking. My second level has crumbled multiple times even when picking up the tower from the bottom with not all the levels on it. I really love the build experience aside from the fact I have had to completely rebuild the second level two times now. I hope this is not an issue for everyone, and while I still enjoyed this build, it became quite frustrating at points.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This icons barad dur is a must to any Lord of the Rings enthusiast with an ample display area. This set is going to end up being bigger than you think, so make sure you have plenty of room. Also, due to its height/width/depth ratio, if you have young children there is the possibility of them tipping it over due to its height. Depending on your skill level and dedication, this set can be a bit of a challenge to build, but that is part of the fun with experimenting with different LEGO techniques. I completed this build and significantly underestimated its stability and weight…upon trying to move it to its display location, it tipped and crashed to the floor in inglorious fashion whilst I will admit.. I shed a tear. A few hours later after painstakingly reconstructing, it was back to display status. I say all that to say this, when moving the build, you may want to take off the top section at minimum as its stability isn’t the best. If you are on the fence about the price to value ratio, this set is worth the hefty price due to its display presence.</span>
