They were very excited about the treasure hunt but got soon disappointed as it wasnt much. To be honest me myself i expected it to be more but yes was a disappointment. But let me tell u they are in love with the kinetic sand my both girls 5 and 9 takes it out every day to play with it. Hence the 4 ☆. Started playing with it straight away and digging through the kinetic sand to find the tools. She really liked the hidden dept in the bottom that had more sand for digging and hidden gems. The sand itself is very satisfying to play with too. All in all it took her about 20 mins and then was over. Has replay ability obviously if you put everything back in again, and you can play with the sand afterwards (which she did). But then that&rsquo;s about it really. The chest it&rsquo;s self is quite large and filled with 2 colours of Kinetic sand, silver and gold. There are little tools inside the sand, a shark shape mood and of course the treasure, these are little plastic gems. We had fun re hiding all the parts and finding them again. The sand is a very strange texture but fun to play with. He of course wanted to open it right away. Super easy instructions and we put the treasure chest into a huge bowl so he could have lots of fun without mom having to worry about clean up! He loved that there was a special key to unlock the treasure chest. It took him awhile to dig and find all his treasure gems. He loved playing with this and we kept the sand for him to use again. I was however pleasantly surprised with this product. I opened it with my 5 year old. The treasure chest was funny to open with the hidden key. The sand was quite compact so I made sure to have a cookie sheet near by when opening it to put the sand it while digging. She enjoyed searching for all the accessories. The extra gold sand with gem stones at the bottom of the chest was a nice bonus. It was definitely a product that can be played with over and over. It was also less messier than I anticipated. When the product arrived, my 7 year old son knew exactly what the product was. It is well known around kids his age. My 2 year old son also liked playing with this. They really loved finding the key and being able to open the treasure box. However, the key quickly got stuck in the key hole and we had to fumble around a lot to dislodge it and open the treasure chest again. I also found it got everywhere so I had to play with it outside. Unfortunately my youngest forced the key in backwards and it's pretty stuck so I've left it in as a &quot;locked treasure&quot; since it's empty inside anyway. One of the steps was to roll a cylinder in the sand for a treasure map but they had no interest in that as they had already figured that the bottom must open. They played with the sand for hours, mostly hiding the gems for each other and were very happy when I brought out a Tupperware to save it for future play.
