The battery seems to last a decent amount of driving time and charges fast. I have to admit, it's pretty cool that it can drive on hot wheels tracks we already have and can even go around loops! It also drives around great on the floor without tracks. I do wish it was die cast metal like the regular hot wheels cars instead of plastic. Though I guess if it were metal it might not be able to zip around like it does. My 7 year old says, &quot;This is a fun RC car. My boys keep fighting over it! Their favorite features: 1. They can use it with their favorite Hot wheels tracks - they built loops special for it, since it actually has enough momentum to follow the loops. 2. They actually also love using it around the house too - much more real estate to zip around 3. IT goes really fast and does &quot;funny stuff&quot; - it spins in circles and can go real crazy. My favorite feature: it's really easy for kids to learn and maneuver. The car charges from the remote so you only need to worry about one set of batteries; kids can charge it themselves. My kids have gone through many R/C cars and most take up way too much space and don't last long. This one has gotten more play than all their other remote control cars combined already and it's very compact. The quality of the vehicle itself also surpasses others, and I love that there is no antenna to get stuck in everything. The one major flaw is that it's small, goes fast and is constantly getting lost under the stove. And dies right there so they can't just drive it right out. The best loved features by the adults: It takes normal household batteries (AA I think), the charging cord is self contained in the controller and it charges the car with common battery power. The best loved features of the littles: the controller is easy to work and easy to manage and the car works on tables as well as hard floors. The 2 year old knows how to charge it and play with it even though it was intended for the 6 year old. They both love it. We only have hardwood or tiled floors so I don't know how it works on rugs. The only caution is because of the size of the car (small), it can run itself under refrigerators, etc if the opening is small enough. No problem, we have learned to avoid the appliances . One more thing, it is very durable as the controller and car have been dropped enough times to test this feature. We were hoping to use it with the tracks we already have. It does not climb the loops of the track and can get stuck when driving on carpet. The car itself seems that it would be easy to break. One good feature is the car charger being attached to the controller. I would recommend having the cover to the charging cord able to lock. We pulled out all this tracks and it even goes fast enough to do a loop (as long as it has enough track to get moving) with the burst button. It only works on hard/flat surfaces, not carpet. He had fun even making it spin in a circle (hold the left/right button). I love that it charges quickly (20 minutes). This hot wheel is remote control. It takes battery in the hand held controller. But what is neat about this controller is that the hot wheel plugs in the back of the controller so it can be charged. It doesn't take long to charge to start having lots of fun . This hot wheel is very fast it does nice tricks with the remote controling it. I'm very pleased with this product. The cars are very cool with nice decals. The plastic they are made of is lightweight but very durable. The controller fits nicely into the hands. It responds nicely too. The set come with an extra piece of track that fits with the other tracks we already have. It was all very easy to setup. I did need some batteries and a small screwdriver. The kids have played with them every day for an week now and they haven&rsquo;t needed new batteries yet.
