The bottom of the dome is approximately an inch off the ground.

This Baby Dome is certified as a Bassinet for overnight sleeping. As with cribs and other bassinets, babies should be placed on their backs to sleep with no blankets, pillows or stuffed animals. Be sure to follow the developmental guidelines &ndash; not for use with a child who&rsquo;s able to push up on hands and knees, pull up or sit unassisted. Also, consider pulling the canopy back when using the dome indoors, especially during naps and overnight, so you have a clear view of your baby.
