The BuubiBottle from Quark is a good option for newborns. Its anti-colic design and RealFeel nipple aim to mimic breastfeeding, making it easier for babies to switch between bottle and breast. The bottle is easy to clean, thanks to its wide-mouth design. The top is made of silicone but the bottle itself is made of Tritan plastic. While it claims to be free of bisphenol compounds like BPA and BPS which is good, I still worry about plastics and wish it was made of silicone instead. It is also a bit on the pricey side. Although it doesn't include any cleaning material, it was easy to wash because it has a wide mouth and gives me access to the inside. The nipple was smooth and nearly resembled a real nipple in texture. Additionally, this bottle is anti-colic, which is ideal for my baby. Overall these bottles are vented, dishwasher safe, microwavable safe, easy to clean and sterilize, and give me spare time cleaning. What's more important is the materials utilized are completely safe for my infant. Update_x000D_ The milk doesn't stick on the inside anymore, and the cap has gotten easier to remove, but be aware that you will have to order extra nipples online. I needed to switch the flow and thought they would interchange with other wide mouth nipples but I tried switching with one of my Avent bottles and although they are both great bottles, you can pull the nipples into the lids but then they wouldn't screw onto the other brand and therefore both leaked when I tried. They looked like they would interchange, but nope. Like I said both are great bottles but now I have to figure out if I can find replacement nipples for either by trial and error, which could end up expensive, but mostly very inconvenient if I can't find replacements locally when needed on a spur of the moment._x000D_ Original review_x000D_ These bottles are OK, I like that you can read the numbers really easy and they're easy to fill and clean. The plastic is the hard kind, not flexible. They seem to be pretty sturdy but I kind of wonder if they were full and had weight in them and fell onto a hard surface if they would Crack. But so far they seem to be working fine. The nipple has a firmer bottom and a more flexible tip, she does fine with it. It's kinda weird that the milk sort of sticks to the sides on the inside but maybe that's just because they're still pretty new. The reason I took off a star is because it said it was supposed to have a sippy cup conversion kit and there wasn't anything like that in the package, and because the caps are really hard to pop off. But as far as bottles go, they are better than alot of others but I feel the price could be lower. The caveat: she has a super shallow latch. She will easily nurse now, though it feels like my nips are burning in h-e-double hockey sticks for the first few minutes. (The things we do for our kids!)_x000D_ I will be going back to work in a month and have only been nursing her at night in an attempt to get her used to a bottle during the day so stay-at-home Dad won't go nuts because she hates a bottle. Here's how it goes: we put the bottle in her mouth, she screams and cries for about 15 seconds, sucks on the bottle for about 5 seconds, then chokes, we pat her back, then repeat the process._x000D_ The first alternative bottle I bought was the Philips Avent Free Natural Bottle. I thought she would like it because it was more boob shaped. She hated it as much as the Medela bottles._x000D_ I decided to give up on trying a different bottle (I hate spending money) and resolved myself to making her like the bottles I already had. Then one night/early morning while feeling the pain of that shallow latch, I realized that the nipples on the bottles I have are all super-long and go very far into her mouth. I started researching &sbquo;&Auml;&ograve;shallow latch bottles' and this bottle came up. The price made me willing to try them._x000D_ She took to this quark bottle right away and is so happy while she drinks from it! The nipple is shallow in comparison to every other bottle I've seen and she seems to be able to control the amount of milk she drinks. We tried so many bottles and nipples when my son was born, and I was looking for something non-toxic (preferably glass or stainless steel), that had an anti-colic valve, and that worked for preparing formula. Glass ended up being too heavy and we couldn't find a glass bottle with a nipple that worked well for my son. He never took well to Dr. Brown's or Phillips nipples._x000D_ Then I found quark. I love the teat and the EX501 material. They also don't give off any smell and are BPA free. The anti-colic nipples are excellent, the anti-colic valve actually works with no extra parts, it never collapses, and it has an off-center shape that works well for my baby. I haven't had any issues with leaking. All materials are high quality. The flow is slower than both the Dr. Brown's Size 1 nipple, and the Lansinoh Size 2 (slow) nipple, which is nice for breastfed babies._x000D_ The nipple shape is similar to the Lansinoh, which I love as a breastfeeding mom. The meat of the nipple is slightly wider than the Lansinoh and the nipple is wider, which is a great option for babies that are used to larger breast. It has a anti-colic hole in the nipple, like the Lansinoh and and is very easy to clean._x000D_ The shape is different from the Dr. Brown's, but has a similar width. I like the anti-colic hole over the anti-colic contraption that you have to use and clean with the Dr. Brown's._x000D_ I wish I would have know these where an option sooner because I wouldn't have bothered with the other brands. The only thing I don't like is that there is no glass option for the bottle, if that is something that is important to you. Firstly, it never leaks. I don't have to worry that the formula could get into the crease my baby girl's neck any more. No more 30-mins staring at the bottle any more!_x000D_ Secondly, it never once causes my baby girl to cough. The teats and its flow speed are just right._x000D_ Thirdly, although I'm not sure to what extend it helps with the gas issue, it certainly makes burping easier than before._x000D_ Lastly, it is so much easier to clean! I don't have to spend hours standing in front the sink washing all those small tiny parts from Dr Browns any more!
