<span itemprop="description">I bought this kitty piano for my daughter when she was 4 years old at her request. She enjoyed it and took great care of it. I saved it for my next child, and he loves it too. (He’s 9 and he still plays with it sometimes..) My issue with it is that the entire surface of the piano has become super sticky over time. Every one of these cat pianos that I’ve seen ends up this way due to the type of plastic used. Ours has been extremely well cared for, but the finish gradually became gummy all over. In reading through these comments, I decided to try rubbing alcohol to try to remove it. It did work, but removed some of the yellow paint in the process. (I did go over any painted parts pretty lightly to keep from destroying all the paint.) A slight stickiness still remains, so I suspect this is a temporary fix, but it’s way better than it was before. I also used some Meguiar’s Natural Shine Protectant to restore some moisture back to the plastic after using the alcohol since it developed a slightly dull haze on some of the orange parts. This helped. Overall, it looks good and will hopefully last until my youngest outgrows it. (Ours has a date code of 10/20/2011, so it’s 14 yrs old at this point.)</span>

<span itemprop="description">Not an uncommon issue with many electronic devices.
But here's the solution:
Wet (but not saturate) a piece of paper towel with 91% to 99% isopropyl rubbing alcohol, changing wet paper towel frequently as the sticky residue dissolves and wipes away. Unfortunately, the eyes and red ears will also be removed in the process, but the kids won't complain. And the black text is not affected by the alcohol and will remain intact.
This simple procedure will make this device usable again for years and years of delightful entertainment.
