You have to soak it in water before breaking it and even with that it&rsquo;s still really hard to break, we had to help bust it open. We&rsquo;ve bought a handful more and now keep them in our &ldquo;gift box&rdquo; to give to other kids for birthdays. The egg has been well traveled keeping the dinosaur toy in it, along with other small toys. Digging the toy out was a lot of fun too. At first they were very excited to get it obviously. However once I opened it and &lsquo;tried&rsquo; to read the instructions, I was the one completely frustrated with it &amp; not having fun lol. My kids didn&rsquo;t even know how to figure it out with the exception of &ldquo;hatching&rdquo; the Dino egg which IMO was a gooey glittery mess with very little reward. The toy had tiny pieces and even after it was assembled &amp; hatched, my kids lost interest very quickly. It was kind of a bummer honestly. Maybe the bigger version would be more fun for them but they haven&rsquo;t seemed interested at all since we tried the mini one.
