The cockpit opens up as well as the ramp into the ship and the back so you can see the interior. It also makes noise and the lightup back looks really good. It does not feel or look cheap at all. When I seen how small the characters were is was alittle disappointing. There was no way for him to enjoy playing with them cause of how small they are. He was constantly losing them. The ship itself is nice though and big anough for him to enjoy and play with it makes sounds and lights up. My son didn't enjoy it as much as I thought he would there just wasn't much to enjoy with this for him.
