The shushing noise is someone's voice and it is SUPER creepy. All of the sounds seems extra loud that I couldn't even use it anywhere in the room near the baby. Handy you csm charge it with a USB but that's about the only thing I liked about it. My baby boy who is 10 months old loves his baby acorn. It is easy to attach to his car seat, stroller, crib etc&hellip; he even loves to carry it with his hand. This has a different array of sounds. Some are lullabies, white noise, and I even love that it has a hushing noise. It has a nice soft glow that can be used as a night light. It is very easy to charge and then you can unplug it and take it on the go. It is super compact, we carry it everywhere with us. It has different sounds to choose from but my baby only sleeps to sshhh sound. The volume setting are convenient as we set it loud when outside and in the home it is set to low. It also comes with timer, 15 mins, 30 mins, 60 mins and always on. The light in it can be on or off. We keep it on when in the car, the baby tries to reach it, plays with it.
