The entire structure is plastic! This castle is a must have (in my opinion), for any Disney fan. There are over 100 characters on the many varied pieces of this puzzle. The construction of the piece is fairly easy however I do suggest building it on a surface that would be the base for the castle; I used foam core board cut down to size. At first I thought the price was a little high for a puzzle but once I received it I saw why. Ravensburger does make a quality product even for &quot;regular&quot; type puzzles but the detail of all the characters like Beauty and the Beast, the Princesses, Ariel, Cinderella, Snow White, etc., are incredible. This would be a great family activity and a great way to surprise the little ones with a Disney Trip. I would highly recommend this to everyone of all ages (watch your little ones, this does contain small &quot;puzzle shaped&quot; pieces) as it is unique and a great size and the attention to detail makes this a winner in my book.
