<span itemprop="description">Would not recommend. Have had the gate 8 months and its garbage. The latch got super stiff after a few weeks making it extremely difficult to open and close. The "handles" used to adjust the gate stripped so that you need to use a pair of pliers to hold the screw in order to adjust the gate. The pressure mounted pads put holes in my wall. Very disappointing experience. I purchased another brand pressure mounted gate at the same time as this one and have had no issues at all with it. Do not buy!</span>

<span itemprop="description">I have replaced the mounting screws and they are still digging holes in my walls. The screws have a rubber shoe on them to "protect' your walls, but the screws poke through them in a matter of weeks. Then they tear up my walls. If I could get my money back I would. The screws ruin the whole gate. Guess that is what happens when you buy something on line. You can't inspect the gate for design flaws. This gate has done several hundred dollars worth of damage to my walls.</span>

It is not the easiest to open and requires a certain amount of strength to slide one piece and then push another.
It does not latch closed automatically, it requires a bit of a slam to latch without using the same push/pull method as to open it.
As it was placed in a high-traffic area, I found it a pain to constantly pass back and forth, especially when I was carrying stuff.
I returned this one and bought another one by the same company which I find much easier to use.</span>

<span itemprop="description">The gate latch became stiff and difficult to operate after a couple of months. The screw in the pressure bumpers pokes through the pad when tightened, very poor design. The screws should have a head the size of the pad to equalize the pressure over the face of the pad.</span>

Did an exchange then that one was also defected and extender piece wouldn't fit into main gate. Had to exchange the gate again. Finally we had two working gates. I'm starting to think we got a faulty one after reading other reviews. My husband and I have to use both hands and a lot of strength to unlatch it...it is really, really hard! We bought it to keep our 1 year old twins out of the kitchen but now my 8 and 10 year olds can't even open it. So it's become more of a hassle and inconvenience than anything.</span>

Took them out to reinstall and BOTH gates have cracks on the upper hinge socket. Found a person selling s used one and his had same problem. Attempted to review on Summer Infant and they said feedback did not meet their requirements (only positive I guess). Can't repair because socket is riveted into place. Not safe for stairs anymore so very frustrating as we are past warranty period. Do not recommend this item.</span>

<span itemprop="description">We’ve had 3 types of gates for 3 kids. This one is my favourite. This gate installed quickly and is easy to use. We used to have a hinged gate that screwed into the wall and a cheap plastic pressure mounted gate that always seemed to fall down. We prefer this one as it locks/unlocks easier, is quiet and sturdy, and doesn’t need to be screwed into the wall. Considering buying a second one for the basement stairs. We have larger opening (42” wide) and this fits well, even without the extender.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Bought this a month ago and its holding up well. You can open the door with one hand. I would have liked the gate door to be able to swing in both directions for ease of use - with the button on the right-hand side it swings open forward.
It is not as easy to open as my Summer Gate (which opens in both directions) but it does the job and is cheaper!</span>

Hello! The gate is adjustable and was manufactured and tested to fit openings from 29&rdquo;-47&rdquo; using the two extensions (included) and is 36&rdquo; high.

I have 2 of these gates and so does my daughter. We haven't tried it against a banister but I would think it would work fine. Buy it, try it and if it doesn't work return it.
