In the last couple of years when I went to replace worn decks, all I can find is the changed colors. Why change what has been working? Currently, I play with my geriatric aunts, mother-in-law and mother. They are put off by the new colors. They have refused to play, now because they say the colors, &quot;Hurt my eyes.&quot; Also, my husband is color blind and he says the cards look fluorescent to him and he also has lost interest due to these aesthetics. I grew up playing board games and card games with my family and have kept the tradition alive with my children. Computers, electronics, and video games are not all evil and we have a ton of all of them but there is a time to disconnect, unplug, and just have fun around the table as a family. We do this often and my children relax and open up when we engage in family game time. I feel like I have their attention. Skip Bo is not hard but it's not easy either! You definitely have to pay attention. The product received was green and orange! With research, I learned that Mattel changed the colors two years ago. They have a right to do that (though I greatly preferred the older color scheme), BUT they should have changed the picture on their web site to reflect the new colors that would be delivered. I was unable to get an exchange because the warehouse was out of the blue/red combination. The color might not matter to new players, but I was used to the blue/red set and found the wild cards in the newer color scheme to be a bit confusing. This is a great game and I highly recommend it even in the new color scheme. I am now in my 30s and there has never been a time when I haven't loved this game. My only complaint is that they no longer come in the nice slide-out box that makes it easy to store the cards. This new box should really be considered packaging, rather than a box to keep your cards in. I am going to have to find somewhere else to keep my cards.
