My child does not enjoy sitting in it. They find it uncomfortable and the arm rests way too low to be of any use. The cup holder keeps popping off and the plastic &quot;ring&quot; that sits on it to stabilize cups ripped/broke off fairly quickly without a lot of use. But most importantly and of greater concern, I have had nothing but trouble trying to get it properly installed so that it is tight and doesn't have movement at the belt path. I've tried with both the seatbelt and the Latch but no matter how many ways I try to pull/tighten even with different tricks I've been told about pulling inside out, it definitely does not feel like a secure install and still has movement and kick out. Two plus weeks for it to be shipped to me. The seat has only been in my car for one day, but my son so far loves it. Weight going up to 65lbs is helpful, with it turning into high back and booster. My son is 5, and just over 40 lbs, so want to keep him harnessed awhile longer for safety. LOVE that it will be the last car seat I need to install. *so DONE with car seats!* Getting it put together, and into the car was the trouble. The instruction booklet is terrible - I needed to see a YouTube video to find one of the pieces to install and what to do with it to attach the back. I thought my son had taken it and lost it - turned out the piece was already installed and I needed to remove it first, then install. After that, easy enough to assemble, and seems like good quality. Putting it into the car was interesting also. It doesn&rsquo;t over lap seats so two people can safely sit in the back and have full usage of their seatbelts. I can safely fit 2 wider/bulky car seats next to it. It&rsquo;s light weight. My son can easily climb in and out of it because the seat isn&rsquo;t too high for him. I like that the cup holder can go on either side of the seat and that it doesn&rsquo;t interfere with the arm rests. It&rsquo;s really easy to loosen and tighten the straps, also changing the hieght of it is so easy. Before I decided to use it, we read all the reviews on many sites and they were quite exceptional. I liked the stamp of approval from IIHS. Although I was not sure how difficult it would be to assemble, the process was very simple and it took just a few minutes. When we installed it in our SUV we were able to get a very tight fit. The Defender really has many great features. It&rsquo;s super soft and comfortable, the headrest is very deep which is important for side impact protection. It was very easy to adjust the height of the harness straps and the headrest together without having to rethread it from behind. The seat was easy to install and my daughter says it is comfortable. Con: the padding around the crotch buckle is a great feature but it is not attached and comes off when the child exits the seat. Con: the chest clip is very easy to undo (my 3 year old toddler was able to undo it while strapped in). The product is designed such that you can simply tuck the harness straps behind the backrest padding without removing them. Begin by loosening the harness as far as it will go and placing it securely behind the backrest pad. If you would like to remove the straps, just remove the backrest panel and unhook the harnesses from the splitter plate. Next, pull on one side of the harness slowly and the webbing will unloop from the car seat.
