Although I loved my old AP model, I find that working on the XP 556 is addictive! I love the height as well as the sturdiness. Although I am petite, the machine would accommodate a taller individual comfortably. The XP 556 does not fold up for storage, but I've always left mine out for convenience anyway. Also, the XP 556 is so beautiful that I want to leave it out. I was skeptical about a machine that uses cords instead of springs, but there is sufficient tension to get a good workout. In fact, I have yet to use all 4 cords at once as 3 are enough for my most difficult leg workouts. Having used the machine for one month, I can already see the difference and I feel great. This is a machine that you can use everyday as you do not get the same level of soreness as with other types of gym equipment. While I enjoyed my first machine, the XP556 is magnificent! It is so smooth and quiet even when I use the reformer attachment. It is well built and attractive, so I leave it in place in my study.
