Bluetooth paired to my phone for my son to use with sound effects.
Only thing I do not like is the battery being 6x AAA. I See that the rechargeable option has been retired (not sure it was Bluetooth compatible to be honest as could not see a light on the top in the pic).
I suppose I could buy rechargeable batteries but they generally have lower capacity.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Got this for my 5 year old son who adores lego and trains.
Pros:
1. Nice looking train.
2. Not too hard to build (son did most of it himself, following the instructions).
Cons:
1. Battery pack drains out 8 batteries in about 1 hour or less. Had a really unhappy 5 year old once that happened. Replaced batteries 2x but about 1 hour is all you get. I have now read or heard this complaint numerous times elsewhere and hope LEGO fixes the issue. I recommend reinstating the old system, or leave it up to the customer by leaving out the power system and dropping the price accordingly, then bringing the old power functions system out of retirement.
2. Bluetooth system not so great for kids. Every time you have to hold down a button on the remote and a button on the train for 10 seconds simultaneously for it to pair. Also have to hold both buttons down (though not simultaneously) to turn it off. Alternatively you can pair with your mobile device, but again, if it's a child playing, they likely don't have their own mobile device.
3. Only 3 cars. For the price you pay, would hope to get at least one more. Or at least make the station a little more substantial.
4. Not a lot of track provided. Again, given the price, would hope for more.</span>

<span itemprop="description">The set overall is great for playing with other trains such as 60198 but after a while running a train in circles gets kinda boring but considering the price, it is pretty cheap compared to the secondhand dealers that sell older passenger trains like 60051 or 7938. If you get this set then get 60198 to go with it and that will keep this set from getting too boring. Overall good set with good accessories.</span>

<span itemprop="description">After “a few” years of not doing Lego sets , i am HIGHLY disappointed in the (new to me ) Lego trains . Before this set i have had the pleasure of using the 1999 9v system and hands down the older system works so much better !!!
This train lacks power for anything over 4 cars long, do you have an incline in your track set up ? Don’t try to use this train , it won’t make it up. unless you spend another $50 + for better equipment. My 9 v Lego train i can run 9 cars with out any issues, and up a hill is no issues. (no modifications)
If you get this set .... better have LOTS... i mean LOTS of AAA batteries, even at only building what comes with the box , battery life is 2 maybe .... i mean maybe 3 hours.
Why Lego changed to regular batteries i will NEVER understand.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I bought this for myself but with the intention of my young Godsons aged 5 and 3 playing with it as well (any excuse!) and I'm really pleased with it so far. I built it up myself and it was pretty straightforward, the boys have enjoyed playing with the minifigures and sending the train round the same track as my Christmas train (which was interesting!). I know there have been some complaints from other builders about the battery usage, but I can't really comment on that as I've only been using it in short spells. I moved the position of the seats in the end carriage so the minifigures could sit in them. I think it's a really smart looking set, my friend commented that she hadn't realised it was Lego until she saw the studs on the top!</span>

<span itemprop="description">Visually, the most beautiful train made by LEGO (in the City theme), and by far. But to be honest, it is quite the only positive point I find to this train..... The value for money is not very appealing. If you plan to play with it, make sure to buy a ton of batteries, for it is extremely energy hungry. And I mean it, extremely ! The minifigs you get are very basic. I would have like at least 5 or 6 more minifigs with this set. And another passenger wagon wouldn't have been too generous from LEGO. My best advice for you: Don't buy this train, unless it is discounted at a very lower price.</span>

<span itemprop="description">i like this set, i just feel that the new system isn't as good as the old system. i liked it when you could just turn the train on, set it to a speed, and send it off. now, you have to be with it, because if it goes round a wall, it looses signal. also, this uses more batteries and lasts for less time. i have the old system of trains at home, and i use those trains far more often than the new on. I would prefer it if you could go back to the old system.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Offert à mon fils pour ses 6 ans. Un régal à monter, sans trop de technique. L'astuce pour loger la batterie est sympa, comme sur la 60098, les wagons et l'ensemble du train ont un design plutôt réussi. Mais gros souci, ce set ne se suffit pas à lui-même et me laisse sur ma faim (contrairement au train de marchandises)
Il aurait fallu (au moins) une motrice de queue, un wagon en plus (chose faite grâce à une 2ème rame acquise) quant à la "halte" (je n'ose même pas parler de gare) on aurait aimé qu'elle soit étoffée un peu plus.
Un souhait ? En fait deux :
- à l'avenir, pitié ! des trains "complets", pas des demi-trains comme celui-ci ou l'horizon express !
- des portes. des portes !!! Lego veut taper dans le réalisme avec plein de détails (réussis, au passage) mais il manque des choses basiques !
Je crois que j'ai une grosse nostalgie du 7740 des années 80... une réédition, ou la création d'un modèle similaire, serait la bienvenue.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I was looking at lego sets when I stumbled upon this and I gave it try. this set is, in my opinion, was fairly easy to build and is very fun to play with. Watching it go around in circles gets old pretty quick so I would recommend getting additional track. My only problem is that the tracks are very hard to separate when they are fresh out of the box. that may only be because this is only my first time with lego trains. overall, a great product and I would definitely recommend this to you.</span>

<span itemprop="description">It's an easy-build train, my 3yo son built it up in 2 days during his playtime. However, the two passenger cars are almost identical and little fun to build. If the design could include one dining car and one sleeping car, that would have been much better and fun.</span>

<span itemprop="description">These new style of lego toys are fun to assemble. But once done you need a nee toy. Where the old style blocks you can make infinite shapes and experience never ends.
