We have no connection issues bringing it to the basement or even outside. Screen is a good size and picture is clear. We only ever need the volume up 1 or 2 notches to be able to hear. Only have 2 downsides but they're not deal breakers for us: - as others have said, the battery doesn't last through the night so you've gotta plug it in before heading to bed. However, the warning beep is quite loud and does wake me if I forget. - the screen is very bright, even on the lowest setting. The battery life for the screen is awful- will not stay charged all night. 2. The camera doesn&rsquo;t work unless it&rsquo;s plugged in-or atleast mine won&rsquo;t. 3. It is SO bright. The screen is incredibly bright, I have to leave it face down or it seriously lights up my whole room. I do love the picture on it, all the different features and the fact that it&rsquo;s easy to use. I have been using this monitor for 6 months now. It's great! 1. I think the video quality is pretty good, especially during the day, but during the night too. It is pixelly sometimes in the dark, when the light source is kinda facing the wrong way, so then I try to place the camera in a different location (usually when I'm traveling). But as long as I'm home, no problems. 2. I really like the ability to play music remotely. Wish I could control the volume of the music. 3. I found the 2-way communication a bit finicky, but haven't used it much yet. Have to hold down the button just right. But maybe it's a skill I can fine tune 4. I'm discovering new features slowly. For example, you can program the screen to turn off after 5 mins while the audio function continues. Good for sleeping. I discovered it by accidently pressing random menu buttons. I guess if I read the manual, that would help. 5.
