Looks just like real thing only smaller! Some people mentioned that it just looked like cheap plastic, but that has not been my experience. The frame is plastic (like a real booster) but it has a little cushion over it and a nylon 5-pt harness (again like the real thing). If I have one tiny complaint it would be that it actually is quite big. Definitely fits my daughter's American girl doll but her bitty twins are swimming in it! My daughter treats them like toddlers so I got this but I think they would have been better off in the Joovy carrier seat with base, which by the way is also absolutely adorable! I purchased one of those for her bitty baby and she fits perfect!
